BACP COUNSELLING SERVICE IN LYMINGTON NEW FOREST HAMPSHIRE

My Own Journey

I have over twenty years’ experience of supporting young people and adults in the context of academic learning, mentoring and counselling.

With a mindful philosophy of supporting physical and mental well-being for optimal functioning, stability and health, I offer the opportunity for clients to reflect and explore emotional and mental health issues in a safe and confidential setting. I believe that therapy should be flexible and I use an integrative approach using elements of CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) and Rogers’ Core conditions. I will also aim to provide you with techniques and tools to help on your journey in life beyond therapy. I think it is important to understand the science behind how the brain works and I may offer guidance on elements of psychoeducation.

All counsellors naturally bring their own uniqueness to the therapeutic relationship, and this person-to-person connection is a vital component of the process. I aim to support clients with a warm, compassionate and accepting attitude, in an environment where the client feels safe and free to explore whatever brings them to therapy.

I have experience working with both adults and teenagers (16+) in the following settings – private practice, employee assistance provider (EAP) “Looking After Me” and in further education at college. I am also part of a team providing well-being and therapy in the corporate sector, this includes workshops, talks and retreat days.
